Being vulnerable and opening up is hard. I see my role as being a guide in supporting individuals as  they find their way through the fog of painful memories, current stressors and overwhelming emotions. Through my work, I have developed a deep passion for supporting people with resolving trauma and exploring ways to feel more grounded and centered. I honor, validate, and respect my clients needs throughout their process. Through the use use various techniques including EMDR, Mindfulness and Ego State Therapy, I assist with supporting  people on their journey towards healing and self discovery. 

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and have been providing mental health services for over 20 years in various settings including residential treatment, community mental health and private practice. My work is collaborative and person-centered and I am grateful to and inspired by every person who trusts me with their story. I will always hold space gently and with compassion, and with a little nudge when needed.

Therapy

EMDR

EMDR is a form of psychotherapy proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain, allowing the brain to resume it's natural healing process. 

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of being in the present moment, increasing both awareness and acceptance of thoughts, feelings and body sensations without judgement. Additionally, mindfulness can assist in detaching from painful or harmful thought processes, which in turn helps with decreasing anxiety. I offer various mindfulness practices to my clients, if desired. I also incorporate my own mindfulness practice into my sessions in order to allow me to be present with my clients so that I may best witness their experience. 

Ego State Therapy

Ego State Therapy is based on the idea that a personality is composed of various "parts" (ego-states). I assist individuals with discovering and exploring their own "parts" and learning to gain more control over how each part effects their internal system.
